MEET THE TEAM

Amanda Thome, PT, DPT

Amanda graduated magna cum laude with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in 2010. Amanda got her bachelors in science degree from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA in 2007. During her time at Ursinus College Amanda was a NCAA track and field athlete. In the clinic, Amanda uses skills she gained working for nationally top-ranked rehabilitation facilities and the skills she continues to develop through rigorous continuing education training. Amanda is an ImPACT concussion trained physical therapist and has dual certifications in Vestibular and Concussion therapy through the American Institute of Balance (AIB-VRC) as well as a certification in vestibular rehabilitation II through the American Institute of Balance (AIB-VR II). Amanda has taken continuing education training in the Mulligan and Maitland techniques, continuing education for TMJ disorders, cervicalgia and headache disorders through Modern Manual Therapy, she is a Hesch Sacroiliac Practitioner (HSP), a certified BalanceWear provider and has completed training for treating a variety of pelvic floor conditions for women of all ages and stages of their lives. It is Amanda's belief that each patient presentation and treatment interventions are unique and need to be tailored to that person. Currently Amanda is focusing her treatment/evaluation time on balance/vestibular/concussion, TMJ disorders/headaches or those in need of female pelvic floor physical therapy. When not in the clinic Amanda can be found training for marathons, hiking, or biking with her husband and dachshund Lucy.

Alexis Creighton, PT, DPT

Alexis was raised in Sandpoint, Idaho where she graduated from Sandpoint High School in 2016. After high school she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Health at the University of Idaho. While there, she developed a passion for injury rehabilitation and physical therapy. In order to pursue this passion of improving the health and wellbeing of others, Alexis decided to attend George Fox University where she received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2023. Prior to graduating, she went on a two-week medical service trip to Uganda, Africa where she provided pediatric and orthopedic physical therapy services to boarding schools, remote villages, and various medical facilities.

Alexis strives to use a multifactorial holistic bio-psycho-social treatment approach that involves combining manual therapy with active treatment to get individuals back to doing the things they love most. She values patient autonomy, education, and self-efficacy to provide individualized, one-on-one care. Alexis has certifications in the Otago Exercise program: falls prevention certified, she is certified in PWR! Parkinson Wellness Recovery, she has taken trainings in the modern manual therapy approach for the upper and lower quarters, she is trained in blood flow restriction training and also has done training to provide care to those with pelvic floor conditions.

Alexis currently lives in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family as well as watching and playing all different types of sports. Golfing, skiing, paddleboarding, and hiking are some of her favorites.

Kerby Andersen, PT,  DPT

Kerby is a 2020 honors graduate from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Prior to his graduate studies Kerby received his Bachelors of Science degree in Health and Wellness, Exercise Sciences with a business administration minor from Eastern Oregon University in 2015. Throughout his undergraduate studies at Eastern Oregon Kerby was a NAIA track and field athlete as a short sprint specialist and pole vaulter.

Since earning his Doctorate in Physical Therapy Kerby continues to pursue additional education with a driven desire for lifelong learning. Kerby has received additional certification as a trained Dry Needling provider in 2021 and has prior certifications as a certified personal trainer and Idaho highschool track and field coach. He enjoys working with orthopedic conditions, injury prevention, strength and conditioning, and balance related deficits.

With a large and varied background of personal interests, work, and athletic experience outside the field of physical therapy, Kerby believes each patient has unique and individualized needs that require personalized plans of care. Kerby utilizes functional movements and treatments with the belief that form follows function.

Matthew Somerville, PT, DPT

Matt graduated from State University of New York with a BA in Science 2002. To the benefit of his patients and peers he found his way into Physical Therapy after graduating with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in Northern Virginia in 2012. After becoming a PT he spent extensive time studying and practicing to become a wound care specialist for which he became certified after two years of training. Matt joins the Cornerstone team bringing his strong interpersonal skills, manual therapy skills and effective exercise prescriptions for the various clients and conditions he sees. Matt has the knowledge, skills, and compassion to successfully work with patients having various impairments, pains, surgical history, or mobility issues and helps get them back to the things they love. When not at Cornerstone Matt can be found skiing, mountain biking, sailing, whitewater kayaking and spending time with his wife and children taking in all that North Idaho offers.

Lindsey Johnson, PTA

Lindsey grew up in Coeur d’Alene and loves all that is North Idaho; hiking, camping, kayaking, huckleberry picking. She went back to school in her 30s to make a positive change in her work/life balance and wellbeing, graduating from North Idaho College in 2019, and hasn’t looked back. She loves physical therapy, interacting with others and helping make positive impacts in their life and wellbeing. Lindsey got married to her high school sweetheart, and has one son, who recently graduated from Post Falls High School at the top of his class, and two dogs - a German Shepard and a Boxer. When not in the
office you can find them in the woods, on the lake or taking long drives.

Lindsey is a wealth of knowledge all around and has done extensive trainings for treating those with balance/vestibular disorders, orthopedic conditions including upper and lower quarter modern manual therapy training and has a very impressive background and skillset treating those with pelvic floor disorders and lymphedema care.

Jessica Robinson, PTA

Jessica finished her Physical Therapist Assistant education at Whatcom community college in Bellingham Washington in 2012, following an undergraduate degree in Photography. Years of instructing yoga and alpine skiing cultivated experience and interest in movement analysis and rehabilitation.

She feels fortunate to have found a career in physical therapy; blending her passions for optimal movement, stability and performance. Areas of CEU study/accreditation include:

vestibular/concussion rehab, pelvic rehab, kinesiotaping, chronic pain, LSVT BIG, Blood flow restriction and more! She strives for collaboration to achieve the best patient centered outcome possible.

Jessica recently landed in Sandpoint, after visiting for many years, and is excited to contribute to healing and rehab in the community. She enjoys mountain biking, skiing,

water sports and yoga. Adventuring in the mountains is her fuel.

Tristan Phillips, PTA

From an early age Tristan has been all about growth and giving a hand up to those in need. His passion for physical therapy began with his first massage business as a kid, Hands O’ Magic. What started off as something for family and friends, continued to grow as he educated himself and acquired skills to expand the population of people he could impact.

 

Tristan comes from a holistic health background focused on improving the mind-body connection, brain health, and strength conditioning. He is a reiki master and blends his manual therapy skills with his holistic health knowledge to provide custom personalized sessions. He is looking to continue advancing and adding new skills to his toolbox to offer a full body approach for his patients. Tristan recently completed training in the upper and lower quarter of the modern manual therapy approach.

Susan Colman, Office Administrator

Susan Colman has been a bicoastal gal her entire life from Northern California to NYC but now resides in the beautiful Selle Valley of Sandpoint.  She started out with a B.A. in Music and then extended her education through the New School’s Creative Arts Therapy program in NYC.

 

Rooted from a creative background, Susan began exploring the benefits of alternative healing through meditation, yoga, prayer and energy work. She enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (NYC) and graduated as a Certified Holistic Health Counselor in 2004.

 

For over a decade she has guided her clients and friends towards a healthier lifestyle through the implementation of eating “whole foods” and exercise.  Also, being a Reiki Master since 2006, she is a strong believer in combining Eastern and Western medicine as a well-rounded approach to health and wellness.  She has been helping run Physical Therapy and Chiropractic practices since 1997 and is excited to join Cornerstone Physical Therapy once again.

Jennifer was born and raised in North Idaho. She has spent many years in healthcare, aiding in administrative tasks for various providers, while also providing excellent customer service to patients. She thoroughly enjoys interacting with fellow members of the community, particularly watching them progress through their recoveries to become better, stronger versions of themselves.

 

She has recently relocated to the family property she grew up on and resides with her partner and young son. In her spare time you can find her refinishing furniture or tucked in with a good book. She also very much loves partaking in all of the activities our beautiful area has to offer; fishing, camping, mushroom, or huckleberry picking, and just being in the great outdoors with her family.
